It matters for where we park and how quickly we start. Tell us the alley access when you book and, if it helps, which cross street to come in from. On a rear-loaded layout a technician who arrives at the front of the house is a long way from the door with a load of parts.

Check the breaker for the garage before anything else. A detached garage runs on its own circuit, and a tripped breaker looks exactly like a dead opener from inside the house. If the power is on and still nothing works, then it is worth us looking — but that check costs you nothing and solves it surprisingly often.
There is a room above our garage and the door is loud.
Noise travels through structure far better than through air, so a room over the garage hears everything. The usual causes are worn steel rollers, loose hardware and a chain-drive opener. Nylon rollers and tightening the hardware handle most of it cheaply; a belt drive deals with the rest.
I keep clipping the door frame coming in off the alley.
Common here, because an alley approach is narrower and taken at an angle. Worth knowing that a knock firm enough to mark the frame often shifts the track behind it, so the door starts running slightly out of true. If it has begun catching or sounding different, have the alignment checked rather than waiting.
Our home is one of the townhomes. Is the door different?
